1. Services
Instaproofer adds professional proofreading to any writing process. Our core promise is to let clients publish with confidence. Therefore, it is essential to us that you know what to expect and editors know what to deliver.

When sending a document to Instaproofer, you pay before service is rendered. Services include checking and correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, and textual structure. All fees are non-binding.

Editors work from a standardized set of guidelines that describe in detail the process by which all documents are edited. You can download a PDF file of the “Instaproofer Guide for Editors” by clicking here.

2. Payment
When you place an order on Instaproofer, the payment is transferred to a dedicated account for holding. Payment does not accrue interest while in holding. Upon an editor’s acceptance and subsequent delivery of the job, the amount is credited to the editor. All payments are made in USD currency.

3. Editing
Editing of your text includes checking the grammar (correction of all grammatical errors), spelling (correction of all spelling errors), punctuation (correction of all punctuation errors), consistency (imposing a consistent style), and textual structure (ensuring that the structure is well organized). Editing does not include development (any writing apart from ensuring consistent structure), rewriting, ghost-writing, or critique or evaluation of the text.

4. Delivery and deadlines
All dates and times provided for the delivery of the document or text are approximate, and based on prior orders of the same size. Instaproofer cannot be held liable for any loss or damage caused by a later delivery time than the approximate one.

5. The editor’s right to refuse the job
Upon acceptance of the text, the editor has the right to refuse the job if it doesn’t meet the standard that makes it possible for the editor to complete the job. This also includes when the editor discovers that he or she cannot carry out the job to an acceptable standard for whatever reason. If the editor refuses the job, you will be notified via email and your payment reimbursed.

6. The client’s right to refuse the job
When editing has been completed on a document, you have 24 hours to evaluate, accept, or claim a re-edit. If you fail to do so, you are deemed to have accepted the work.

If you do not accept the work, you can claim a re-edit within 24 hours, stating your explicit reasons for doing so. When claiming a re-edit, you must have made no significant changes to the document, and addressed all notes and comments from the editor. If you fail to provide a reason for your refusal of edited text, you are deemed to have accepted the work.

If you send the text for re-editing, the editor will do the re-edit at no extra cost to you.

If you do not accept the re-edited work, and your claim is legitimate and supported by substantive proof, your payment will be reimbursed, and the editor will not receive any payment.

7. Confidentiality
Instaproofer acknowledges that editors may be privy to confidential information in the form of sensitive or unpublished material. To ensure client confidentiality, all Instaproofer editors shall accept to work under a non-disclosure agreement by using the service. The non-disclosure agreement can be found in full in Instaproofer’s privacy policy.
